Free training is available, funded by Hereford College of Technology. The College funds NVQ/ BHS and National Certificate Courses, with September and January intakes.

Wits End Stables also stages BHS Horse Owners Certificates courses.  These are not funded by the College. If you want to learn how to look after your horse properly and gain more knowledge about all sorts of aspects of horse care,do get in touch. You must be 16years + and all you need is 1 hour a week to spare. Bookings are being taken now. Only the admin fee to pay.

For young enthusiasts we have our Pony Club Meetings.  Full training in all aspects of horsecare and riding is given, with fun activites, pony club badges and certificates.  We hold the Meetings at weekends, and Thursday evenings.  So all you PONY MAD YOUNGSTERS come along and learn while you are having fun!

Take a look at our Easter Holiday Programme - we have lots of different activities - with half day, full day and hourly options.  We are a Pony Club Centre and train all aspects of pony care, with lots of grooming, quizzes and fun activities as well as riding.

Welcome..

Wits End Stables

Welcome to Wits End Stables, we are a Riding School & Pony Club Centre and we give lessons from beginner to advanced, to anyone over 8 years old. We offer a flexible learning programme, with horse care funded by Hereford College of Technology, and also courses for NVQ, BHS and National Certificate qualifications. School Leavers and mature students are welcome.

 

There are also a limited number of spaces for full/part or working livery.


Wits End Stables is run by Gail Shaw, BHSAI (reg'd), with 20 years experience.  Gail has also completed BHS stage 4 and IT training in full, attained a National Coaching Foundation certificate and a degree in Teaching and Learning techniques.  She has trained many successful BHS students up to  Stage 3 level.

Gail has successfully produced several youngsters and competed unaffiliated dressage.  She has spent the last 3 years schooling and training her children and their ponies in BSJA competitions, now jumping Foxhunter classes.
